From Friday 9 September 2022, National Cabinet announced that the isolation period for positive COVID-19 cases would be reduced from 7 days to 5 days.
The current advice for school settings staff, students and visitors who have tested positive to COVID-19 must:
Masks continue to be required for all workers who support students with a greater risk of severe illness if they were to have COVID-19 in SSPs, support units and some mainstream classrooms, and for staff working in Assisted Travel programs.
All staff, students and visitors who test positive to COVID-19 should continue to follow the NSW Health guidelines in addition to the relevant CSNSW advice.
There are no changes to NSW Health requirements for household and close contacts. Any staff member, student or visitor who is identified as a household or close contact should follow the NSW Health advice.
GOT SYMPTOMS? GET TESTED - People who are unwell are excluded from entering the school grounds. A negative test result needs to be sighted before readmittance.
HANDWASHING- Wash your hands often with soap and water. This includes before and after eating and after going to the toilet. Use alcohol-based hand sanitisers when you can’t use soap and water
SANITISING - Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth, clean and disinfect surfaces you use often such as benchtops, desks and doorknobs, clean and disinfect objects you use often such as mobile phones, keys, wallets and work passes,
VENTILATION -increase the amount of fresh air by opening windows and never use air conditioning with recirculation setting. Use of outdoor settings where possible.
PHYSICAL DISTANCING - Physical or social distancing means reducing the close physical contact we have with people and staying 1.5 metres away from people we don't live with.
AVOID CONGESTION/GATHERINGS - Parents & carers to avoid gatherings at student pickup and drop off gate.
COVID SAFETY PLAN - Kept on the premises.
